Are you passionate about writing, or simply curious?  An established author, or writing for a hobby, perhaps for your family?  Or maybe you have a story to tell, or just want to scratch a ‘writing itch’?

The idea of trialling a new ‘Prestwood Writers’ Group’ has been prompted by a number of recent conversations along the lines of “I’d like to start writing/I already write for pleasure, I’d like to know more about how I can take it further, even getting published…”

We have invited a very special guest to the launch.

Susanna Beard (https://www.susannabeard.com/ ) made the transition from a successful career in Public Relations, to published author of now eight acclaimed psychological thrillers. She is glad to pass on her experience, giving talks about writing and the journey to publication, to interest groups, libraries and book clubs. She is a regular at literary festivals, on radio and TV. A selection of her titles is below.

We shall hold the inaugural meeting in the newly branded ‘Prestwood Creative Hub‘.  As a venue to promote creativity in the heart of Prestwood, and with the Big Week theme of showcasing varied venues around the village, where could be more appropriate?  Please be aware that access is via steep stairs, and there is no lift.

Prestwood Big Week is, among other things, an opportunity to try new things out.  Last year, The Pantry at 51 trialled its silent Book Club, which is now a regular feature.

PCA’s vision for a Prestwood Writers’ Group is of a supportive and inspiring environment, in which residents can meet regularly to learn, share, encourage and receive motivation.  And to make friends!   We are especially keen to meet residents who would like to help move this forward.
