Prestwood Community Association would ike to thank the 80+ residents who came along to help its launch at Prestwood Village Hall on October 29th.

It was exciting to see so many in attendance, and there was plenty of energy in the room. Many of those attending took the opportunity of staying on to enjoy refreshments and a chat.

We hope that everyone who attended will have left with a clear understanding of PCA’s vision. Key to its success will be to work with everyone in the village – residents, organisations and businesses. The following two slides from the presentation capture the essence of PCA’s ambition.

So… so far so good, but PCA recognises that this can be counted only as a good start.

Within its Committee, PCA already has a team of volunteers with a wide range of experience and connections. These will enable it to press ahead with projects and activities.

But if we want to have a serious impact on the village, the keys to this are sharing ideas, partnering with local groups and organisations, and adding to volunteer numbers.

Volunteering

PCA needs volunteers. From joining the Committee to lead one of the activities, to joining a working group, to giving time to a specific project, volunteering can take many different forms, with differing time commitments.

Residents interested in volunteering in any way, or just discussing possibilities, can contact PCA in the first instance on info@prestwoodcommunity.uk.

Partnering

PCA has strong links with other local groups and organisations.

PCA was very excited that Prestwood Nature (PN) presented at the launch. Coordination with Prestwood Village Association (PVA) is fundamental to PCA’s reach into Prestwood community.

PCA is keen to speak to and work with as many organisations as possible within Prestwood.
