PCA held its second Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Prestwood Village Hall on Monday 28th September. You can enjoy the presentation here:

Below are some highlights:

The ‘official business’ saw Karen Pither, Robert Gibson and Helen Smith reappointed as Chair, Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

PCA Finances

Treasurer Robert Gibson reviewed the year’s finances. The major income and expenditure items revolved around PrestFest and Prestwood Big Week. Building on the experience of the now-rebranded ‘Prestwood Picnic’ in 2025, expenditure on entertainment was increased by around 50%, to £3,675, and promotion was more than doubled, to £1,370. The results were there for all to see, in excellent engagement and attendance. PrestFest was free to attend, and Big Week events were low-cost or free. But a surplus of more than £2,600 was generated from the PrestFest bar, catering, raffle and pitch fees.

In all, expenditure during the year was £8,130, and income was £10,586. PCA is very grateful to the organisations that made grants – Great Missenden Parish Council, Buckinghamshire Council East Chilterns Community Board and Sweet Charity.

The year’s surplus enabled PCA to commit a substantial donation to the fund raising of Friends of Prestwood Village Schools for new play equipment.

Review of 2025/2026

The review of 2025/2026 highlighted in particular:

  • The #WeLovePrestwood survey, which is helping guide PCA’s work.
  • Prestwood Big Week and PrestFest.
  • PCA’s efforts to inform residents, including on Planning issues.
  • Environmental work around the village.
  • ‘Thank yous’ to all who helped or worked with us throughout the year.

Going forward…

For the coming year and future, we explored:

  • Developing our communications platform for the benefit of the community.
  • Further environmental work including clean-ups around the village.
  • Planning issues, including an appeal for an expert voice to join the Committee.
  • Building further on PrestFest and Prestwood Big Week.
  • Volunteering.

Could you help?

PCA’s ability to make an impact depends critically on a willing group of volunteers. York Woodford-Smith and Matthew Appleby spoke compellingly about their experiences as volunteers with PCA, and within other groups dependent on volunteers.

There are so many diverse ways in which you can help. If you have skills or passion or ideas, and can give some time, your village and community will benefit. Please drop us a line on info@prestwoodcommunity.uk.
